Mike’s late father, Fred Rose, was a well known figure in the world of Lancashire Dialect, writing under the pen name of ‘Mick O’ Pleasington’.

Many of his poems relate to everyday Lancashire life in the past. Some still resound true to this day! They are mostly written with his tongue in cheek humour intertwined through the verses.

Here’s a small selection ..... mostly in Lancashire dialect, some not. He created a large collection and we intend to amend the titles available every few weeks. We hope you enjoy his work and return to view more of his poems. The introductory notes are his own.

We have also included a couple of interesting local links.
